DEFINING A NEW LEGACY

Official Opening – Defining Sydney’s Luxury Hospitality Landscape

1990

After serving as a base for the Water Police and Maritime Services Board through the mid-20th century, the Campbell’s Cove site evolved once again with the development of a new hotel. In 1990, Park Hyatt Sydney officially opened on the waterfront. The opening ceremony was led by NSW Tourism Minister Garry West, alongside the hotel’s first General Manager, Willi Martin. At launch, room rates started from $375 per night, offering guests an exclusive new way to experience Sydney’s iconic harbour.

2012

An Icon in Luxury Hospitality

Over the years, Park Hyatt Sydney has remained an icon of luxury hospitality, offering an unrivalled harbourside experience. In 2012, the hotel unveiled a multi-million dollar transformation, following a complete rebuild of its rooms, spa, restaurant, and bars. Celebrating its heritage, the renovation incorporated original Sydney sandstone, local timbers, and commissioned Australian artworks. With refreshed interiors by BARstudio, expanded rooftop suites, and Sydney’s largest guest rooms, Park Hyatt Sydney continues setting the standard for sophisticated, contemporary luxury in years to come.
